I tried enabling "Use legacy display ICC color management" in the compatibility settings for F1_25.exe, but unfortunately the game still launches with HDR active, even though HDR is turned off in Windows and I'm using the -nohdr launch option in Steam. Is there anything else I can try to prevent the game from forcing HDR on startup?
I finally managed to find the issue.
Even though I had already checked the "Use legacy display ICC color management" option, the real solution was editing the game's hardware configuration files.
You can find them here:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\F1 25\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml
Then look for the hdr_mode entry and set its value to "0".
I hadn't thought of this earlier simply because the in-game settings always showed HDR as off, so I assumed it was disabled in the config files too — but apparently it wasn’t.
