Intermittently the in-car engine sound is missing. However the gear up-change beep is still heard as well as track ambience and race engineer voice is still heard. If you change some of sound settings e.g. mono mix or 3d audio it seems to sometime have an effect but thus might just be coincidental and placebo.

I too have this issue and noticed it in the next race after enabling 3D audio. After disabling 3D audio and relaunching the game the issue appears to be resolved.
