Intel UHD driver version check blocks game on laptops with RTX GPU
After the latest Windows 11 update, F1 25 no longer launches on my laptop.
Hardware:
- Laptop: MSI GF63 Thin 10UC
- CPU: Intel (with Intel UHD Graphics)
- Dedicated GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
- OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)
Issue:
F1 25 fails to start with an error saying that the Intel UHD Graphics driver is too old and requires version 32.0.101.6449 or newer.
Current Intel driver version: 31.0.101.2115
Important details:
- The game renders on the RTX 3050, not on Intel UHD
- RTX 3050 is forced both in NVIDIA Control Panel and Windows Graphics settings
- Intel UHD is only used as a display adapter (Optimus)
- MSI does NOT provide any newer Intel driver for this laptop model
- Intel generic drivers (32.x) cannot be installed due to OEM restrictions
- The game worked correctly BEFORE the latest Windows update
Conclusion:
F1 25 performs a hard check on the Intel UHD driver version at startup, even though the Intel GPU is not used for rendering. This blocks the game from launching on many laptops with NVIDIA Optimus, despite having a fully capable RTX GPU.
Request:
Please adjust or remove the Intel UHD driver version check at startup, or allow the game to validate only the active rendering GPU (NVIDIA).
This appears to be a regression introduced after recent updates.
