Qualifying speed vs race pace

For me ( on PS5 ) on driver career mode no matter what difficulty I set the AI to my qualifying pace is way faster than my race pace. I started a career with Kick Sauber who are at the bottom of the R&D charts, theoretically the slowest car on the track. However every single qualifying whether it’s sprint race or gp I’m constantly qualifying top 10 which is super unrealistic. Then when I get in the race I can’t even keep up with the Haas or Alpine cars. I’ve tried it on 105 Ai (I’m usually around 90-95) and it still happens. Idk what to do to improve this and make it more realistic. It’s honestly quite frustrating. Help
