Spotify crash while start a race

I’m experiencing an issue with F1 25 on PlayStation 5 Pro when using Spotify in the background.

Spotify works fine while I’m in the menus, but as soon as I start a race and get on track, the music begins to stutter, freeze, and eventually stops playing completely. Once this happens, I can’t pause or resume playback manually — I have to wait until Spotify stops entirely.

This issue doesn’t occur with other games, so it seems to be specific to F1 25. It looks like the game might be interfering with or overriding the background audio playback feature on PS5.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. Did you solve it?

    Thanks for reporting Marcokimi7 !

By the way, timeoLew, are you also on PS5?

I'm trying to escalate this issue to the team, so the more information I have, the better.

Does it happen on any track? Does it happen in any game mode?

Yes, this happens on PS5 and on any track. As soon as I'm on a race, the music glitches and stops, and I can't listen to it anymore. I don't understand.

Hard to believe that 20 days after the report and multiple updates, there’s still no fix for this problem

  • It’s been almost three months since I reported this issue and the situation is still exactly the same.

On F1 25 on PlayStation 5 Pro, when I use Spotify in the background, the music works perfectly while I’m in the menus. However, as soon as I start a race and get on track, the music begins to stutter, freeze, and eventually stops playing completely. Once that happens, I can’t even pause or resume playback manually — I have to wait until Spotify stops on its own.

What’s even more frustrating is that this doesn’t happen with any other game, so it clearly seems to be something specific to F1 25.

After almost three months, I was expecting at least some concrete update or progress on the issue, but so far there hasn’t been any solution. I really hope the team can identify and fix the problem, because listening to music while playing is a basic console feature and right now it simply doesn’t work with this game.
