Why cant i move passed the new driver ratings update with i accept the email and accept it in the co op career? It just bugs out and doesnt do anything and i can no longer play co op which is very fr...

I’m a ps5 player and regularly play two player career mode with a friend of mine. Eversince the new patch when we enter the career mode we are presented with a driver ratings update screen that no matter the action that we do (either accept ot decline) does not go away. This has basically locked us out of our own career mode save where we have invested a hefty amount of hours, thus being quite frustrating.
we have tried multiple “fixes “ such as restarting the game and checking if driver updates had applied to our own individual career saves (which they had) but still remained the same on the two player save. I understand that creating a new two player save would probably fix the issue but we both don’t want to lose the work put in thus far !
I would very much appreciate your help on this

Currently in two player career mode there's a bug where, when it asks you to update driver ratings, it doesn't let you update them and the screen is stuck on that window. There's no way to ignore it and you can't go on. Even if both players reject or accept the updates, the screen is still stuck. Hopefully EA addrresses this bug in the patch coming next monday.
Also seeing the same issue w my two player career mode. Did notice that I am getting the reoccurring message in messages tab that keeps showing to “apply to existing career saves” for the driver ratings update. Does not work from either this screen or one you mentioned above and we get stuck. Hoping this can get fixed asap as a lot of folks use this to race daily w a friend.
The solution is as follows:
One of the two must leave the session and restart their game, while the other remains in the menu where the ratings need to be updated. They then join the other player who is still in the session. In my case, I was then back in the normal menu. Then the other player, who remained in the session, repeats the process and should also be in the menu when they rejoin.
If it doesn't work in the first time try it again!

I've tried it multiple times it hasn't worked is there anything that should be done beforehand? or does accepting it from mail ruin it
We both accepted the Mail and then went into the Coop Career.
My friend was the host, so I closed the game and he stayed in the Session.
After that I joined him and was loading into the normal Menu. Then I stayed in there and my friend left the game and rejoined it.
We had the exact same bug in co-op career, but succeeded with the workaround mentioned by MaxBsch1905 - thanks!
