Title: PS5 surround channels mis-routed (engine audio only in rear speakers)
Platform: PlayStation 5
Audio setup: [e.g. 5.1 surround receiver + speakers / soundbar with rears]
PS5 Audio Format tested: Linear PCM, Dolby, DTS (no change)
Issue:
In F1 25 on PS5, surround channels are incorrectly mapped. Engine sounds are routed to the rear speakers, while road rumble and bumps come from the center channel. Front left/right and center do not carry the car engine audio as expected.
Steps to reproduce:
- PS5 set to Linear PCM (also tested Dolby, DTS).
- Launch F1 25.
- Turn engine volume slider up/down in Audio Settings.
- Engine noise plays through rear channels only.
- Road surface/bumps come through center channel.
Expected result:
- Engine should primarily play through front L/R + center channels.
- Rear speakers should carry ambience, reverb, and passing cars.
- Road rumble should not be locked only to center.
Actual result:
- Engine locked to rear speakers.
- Road bumps locked to center.
- Fronts underused.
Notes:
Other EA titles on the same PS5 (e.g. FC 26) output correct surround. This suggests an F1 25-specific audio mix / channel mapping bug on console.
