The AI changes in the middle of the race. I play with the difficulty at 102 and at the beginning of the race that difficulty is realistic, but after a few laps the AI worsens its pace by about 2 or 3 seconds from one lap to the next, which makes no sense. It has happened to me in the last 2 races.
