Wet race on slick tyres

So i started my career as a driver in Melbourne. Race should be wet from the start of the weekend. When i looked for my strategy, I was surprised with the decision of the game. I was on slick tyres and i couldn't change for the wet ones. So yep, even though there was a rain, me and the whole AI had started on slick tyres. AI were pretty fast in the race on those slicks. When I changed for inters, i was so much faster, then the rest of the field, but my engineer told me, that I am on the wrong tyres and he gave me a strategy to change back to slicks. I was really pissed off, so I restarted the race and immediately retired.
