When an evolution expires a notification comes up like the picture attached explaining which evolution has expired. There is no option to close this notification down and the game requires a restart ...

Yeah, most of last season's evos expired yesterday. If you didn't use them, then you get these messages.
But as far as I am aware, this message appears only once. Are you getting this message even after restarting the game?
