The Test of Time Evolution Cancelled Bug

I placed my player in the new Test of Time Evolution, but then decided to cancel it. I thought that maybe if I canceled it, I would get the evolution item back. When I tried to cancel, it said something like “You will not get back the coins or FC Points,” and “In-progress evolution will not proceed…” (I can’t remember the exact wording). It didn’t mention anything about the evolution disappearing, which is fine. I understand that part.

However, even after canceling the evolution, the player I used is still marked as “in progress” and I can’t use him in matches. I know players can’t be used while they’re in evolution, but since I already canceled it, I believe I should be able to use him again.

Am I misunderstanding something here? If not, this might be a bug, and I’d really appreciate an explanation or a fix.
