I had this issue with my game too but if you are using it through Xbox Game pass I think I found a solution if you go to the game bar by pressing the Xbox button and then turning click-through off it stopped my controller from appearing as a mouse which I think is interfering with the controller in games but I’ll need to test it it stopped it from interfering in the menus
It is not working, joystick still not responding
