Division Rivals Challenge not working

I just played a game of division rivals that had the objective, play the next game with a TOTW player in your squad. I have 84 TOTW Malard in my team but it did not count as being completed. The objective showed up at the end of the game saying it wasnt completed. Is it because the opponent left the match?
