Losing roles after evo

I evo'd WW Ashley Cole with Meeks Mode and he has had his LB roles stripped off, including FB++ (he was ++ on all LB roles before). As I had evo'd him before he lost  RB roles too.  Evo's should make players worse by taking away pre-existing roles. I'm on PS5.
