Online Seasons mode – Opponent quits no win or points awarded (Xbox Series X)

Description:

In EA Sports FC 26 Online Seasons, I’m repeatedly running into an issue where I am several goals ahead, the opponent quits, and the match ends instantly without awarding me a win, points, or any division progress. This has happened multiple times and appears to be a consistent bug now.

Details:

  • Platform: Xbox Series X
  • Game Mode: Online Seasons
  • What happens: Opponent quits → match ends immediately → no win, no points, no progression.
  • Expected behaviour: A quit should automatically award the win and apply the correct points.
  • Actual behaviour: No win is recorded and no points are added.
  • Frequency: Happens regularly across multiple matches.

Impact:

This makes Seasons progression unreliable, as legitimate wins are not being counted. Please investigate and confirm whether this is a known issue and when a fix can be

Similar issue on PC in Online Seasons. Once the opponent is behind, suddenly he disappears from the game. When in the pause menu, you can see that the opposing player has disappeared (see below). After quitting or continuing, the game is not counted (in the below example I was leading by 4 goals in minute 43).

  • Same issue here, and it's not a bug as far as i'm aware.  When a player leaves, the game has to disconnect as you can't play with yourself. And you must play the full match, so 90 minutes + Extra time for the win to register. The opponent (or yourself) cannot leave here and cause the issue as the server already counted the win (or loss, or draw).

So it happens because the server HAS to do that, instead of awarding the forefeit victory.

Why do they say this isn’t a bug? The system that awards a walkover when one player leaves during a match is far too unstable. Why isn’t EA focusing on that?

That’s right—when this message pops up, there’s nothing we can do about it; we just have to accept it. In other words, it’s a sign of despair.

I have now tried and disabled crossplay - I have the suspicion it only happens when my opponent is joining as console player... But let's be serious, it is unacceptable that EA is not able to fix these issues for months or even decades. People who pay for AAA prices for such a game have a right to receive a game that is not broken - EA PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!

Have you guys also noticed that this doesn’t happen in the biweekly Tournaments on seasons. When you quit during any of the cup tournaments (premier cup, women’s INTL etc) the person who quits gets the L, which of course makes sense. So, HOW is this not possible to do the same thing in a normal seasons game? It doesn’t make any sense
