Thanks for the reports to make sure this was brought to our attention.
The team is currently investigating, and you can keep an eye out for further updates here as well as this thread.
In the meantime, creating a new custom controller preset in FC27 should help workaround this issue while we're taking a look.

Wasted 600 FIFA points on draft and couldn’t pass because of the glitch. Looking for a refund for that asap!
Unfortunately, creating a new custom controller preset does not work for me on PS5. When I try to assign R1, the game switches the menu tab, and when I try to assign R2, it opens the EA Social/Friends menu instead of registering the button.
So the suggested workaround cannot actually be completed with my usual R1/R2 custom layout.
Didn't work!
