avatar glitch

I'm not exactly sure what to call this, my friend got me to download skate yesterday, being excited for its release. I can't fix this no matter what I do. If I go to change my outfit, my character shows up normal then goes back to the glitchy stage. Even when I start skating (though I don't look normal) it eventually gets worse and takes up my whole screen.
