PS4 Version Unplayable (Input lag/extremely low FPS)

I've been playing on a PS4 the past few days while I stay with family and this version of the game is literally unplayable. There is what seems to be almost a full second of input lag mixed with terribly low and inconsistent framerates that ebbs between 20-30fps (30 if I'm lucky, its usually closer to 20). I was excited to login and play in the living room after my family went to sleep since I'm away from my PC, but this has severely disappointed me and made me a little mad, frankly. I looked it up here and other places to see if others had the same issue and noticed that it is widespread and only started with the season 1 update, and hasn't been addressed at all, which is incredibly frustrating and  a bad look because I'm sure theres still a decent portion of the fanbase stuck on the last gen consoles. My question is, why release it for last gen consoles if you can't manage to make it playable? I hope for a response from someone on the team because this abysmal and shouldn't be ignored or tolerated by the development team.
