Skate using 100% CPU

Hello EA developers;

I downloaded the free version of Skate from the Epic Games Store. However, because the Skate.exe file uses 100% of the CPU, I can only play it for 4-5 minutes, and then my PC shuts down. I've read many comments on forums from players complaining about this issue, and they haven't found a solution either. - My desktop isn't very old; it's a gaming system with an RTX 3060. It's never overheated and shut down in a game like this before. - I've also set my graphics card's performance settings to maximum and graphics quality settings to minimum. I even limited Skate.exe's CPU usage to 80% with an application. Nothing has changed.

As a gamer who loves skateboarding games. I think I won't be able to play your game for a while.

I hope this excessive resource consumption issue is resolved.

Good luck.

  • Hi,

    Im also having the same issue as you. I also have a RTX 3060 and my GPU usage at Ultra settings is around 50-60 %. However, even with the lowest of the graphics, my CPU usage is maxed out (99%). I have a Intel I7-11370H and i dont think our pc is the issue. I can play any other big title games like GTA or Forza horizon 5 in ultra at 100+ fps with less than 60% of usage on both the CPU and GPU.

    Overall, I think this is due to the game not being optimized. EA, PLEASE ADRESS THIS ISSUE.

  • I strangely enough also have an RTX 3060, I hope this isn't effecting a select few.. I was enjoying the game too, but this suddenly started being an issue.

    Mine is fine for 20 mins then the same thing happens with my I5 and RTX 3060. Tried everything from setting graphics to low, and limiting the fps with Nvidia. Same result

  • Same issue. My CPU is getting to 85-90°C and causing my PC to crash. Only way to somewhat safely play this game now is with the front and side panels of the case removed. It's insane

  • Same I also have this problem! The temperature of my cpu reaches over 100C after 3-5 mins and then the game crashes. I have the game running on minimum settings using my Nvidia GTX 1660ti series and I am using an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H.

    Please fix this issue EA!

  • Same issue here, high CPU usage and persistent stuttering make this game unplayable. The tutorial was fluid and fine, but since moving to San Van it's unplayable.

  • I also have an RTX 3060 Ti. But the processor is i3-12100F. The screen is 140x1440. The processor is loaded at 100%. I've limited the game to 160 fps. The game doesn't slow down. But the i3 is a cold processor. Therefore, it heats up only to 85 ° C and does not turn off. But I still don't like the CPU usage at 100%. At the same time, YouTube on the second screen does not affect the operation of the game. And the video doesn't slow down. It's magic :)
