Xbox replay editor cuts first second of exported video

This is something that started happening I believe at 0.29.1 and is different, but still persistent in 0.30.1

Whenever I export a replay from the editor, it cuts the first 0.5 to 1 second (I think depending of replay speed?) from the start of the video. It is really annoying to work around.

It's a simple bug.

How to replicate:
Go to replay editor
trim the replay to a certain size.
Export the video
Open the video in the xbox recordings app, and see the exported version is missing half a second to a second is missing from the start when you compare it to the placed trim marker.

expected behaviour:
The part of the replay that I trimmed, should be the part that is exported.

Thanks.

  • This is unfortunately still a thing in 0.30.5. It's really annoying to export a good complete clip at the moment :(

    Hey there,

Thank you very much for your report and for attaching the reproduction steps. I have escalated this to the game team for further investigation.

On series-X we can do screen capture in 4k (series-S 1440p) It’s higher quality and faster than the in game export feature.

Go to xbox settings - preferences - capture & share.

Here you can enable screen capture and adjust quality.

You also must map one of the share button presses to start/stop recording.

Back In the game you can now start the screen recording, hide the editor hud and play your edit, when your edit is finished, stop the screen recording. (You can also use this feature now to just capture regular gameplay as well)

A few seconds later it will be available in the captures app.
You can export this to a hard drive to get the 4k video for editing or you can just send it to the xbox mobile app but this will downscale to 1080p.

    Video Tutorial attached.
