With the new IG I now score less in coliseum than I use to with only Luke not sure if this is meant to happen or what.

Just scrappy game design then?
The game mechanic is explained in the description of "Now There Are Five Of Them" under Event Info.
"At the start of battle, up to 4 enemies (from the bosses perspective, so your summoned allies) are summoned based on this unit's era level (The boss's era level) and the lowest enemy's (your characters) Era level..."
You need to level up your character's evenly. It definitely could have been more clearly communicated (as with many things in the Era's update) but it's always been written there in black and white. Both my Luke and IG are lvl 22 atm, and I got above 70% against tier 2 AT-ST today.
That might be how its written but my other account both are lvl 15 and its 50/50 on clearing teir 1. I did better with just luke at lvl 15. Still very crappy game design hope people stop spending money to lvl up a character they can't even use for 80+ days
This is an intended reaction, on the "Now There Are Five Of Them" effect, it spawns summons based on the Boss's level, and the lowest level on your characters.
I will note that you can just enter the battle with an undersized squad, but yes, this is not a bug; you just need to read the fine print.
