The Boxed In modifier on Vandor in Rise of the Empire reads:
At the start of the encounter, a Crate is summoned … into the Ally slot. [and attacking it purges DOTs]
The Crate was summoned as specified for the first encounter, but not the second. However, the modifier also states:
All enemies are inflicted with a Damage Over Time at the start of any enemy’s turn.
This effect persists into the second encounter.
Thus, DOTs continue to be applied with no available mechanic to remove them. The apparent intent of the two effects to work together through the whole battle.
