Same issue here. Just started acting up for me this morning.
Tried restarting phone, uninstalling/reinstalling SWGOH, clearing cache, etc. of the things listed in EA-Gunner's linked site. Issue persists.
I am able to play as a guest account, but the google play connection is messed up.
Workaround - don't go through Google Play, use EA Connect instead. I was only able to find EA Connect if you start a new game.
Enter game as a new level 1 player, click on the green already have an account on the top left. Use EA Connect instead of Google Play. This will send you a code via email (same as with webstore). That worked and was able to get into the game.

This didn't work for me though. When I enter the code from email I get a generic error saying "try again"
