Action cancelled when my sims try to take something in fridge's inventory

bug noticed on 07/12 on the sims 4 PC:

When I click the "take leftovers" or "take a portion" action on the table or in the inventory, when my Sims get to the plate or the fridge, they reset and the action is canceled! I tried restarting the game, to no avail, as well as manually resetting my Sims using the "resetSims FirstName LastName" code. The only thing that works is preparing a dish or eating a quick meal.

    Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
    • Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
      • Delete the ones you have
      • Trigger the error again
      • Check if new ones are created
      • If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.
      • Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.
