Bakery will not stay open

Before this recent patch, I was able to have a functional retail bakery by having a random sim purchase said bakery and create cakes, etc, so my Sim could go and shop there. I had time same setup for grocery stores with nectar, candles, Baked goods, cooked meals, etc along with operational malls with clothes. This has never caused an issue, but now my businesses will not stay open when I switch players, so I cannot "shop" in any of my retail stores. I do not have the business & hobbies expansion, but have everything from before that launch. I don't currently have any mods or cc installed and did not have any installed upon the update.
