Can't Drag & Place Items from Sim Inventory

Could you please provide the following information

-  Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
-  What platform are you playing ?

I am newly experiencing this as well. I've just moved my family into a new home, bringing all their books and items in fridge. Cannot drag book to bookshelf from sims inventory. Cannot drag items to fridge including, cooked meals, fresh fish, fresh produce, honey, jams, meat cubes, beetle nuggets, flour, etc. Photos dragged to frames work, but only one by one rather than a stack (in the case of the moschino digital photo frame.) 

I had simple living and off-the grid lot traits active but disabled with no change. Previously was living in a Tier 1 tiny home with a small business. New home is a residential rental. I'm on PC and had mods but doesn't work with them removed either.

Edit: After repairing game and launching without mods, I replaced both fridge and bookshelf with a new one from B/B (same style) and they regained their drag/drop functionality as intended.

Setting this to review as it has 5 upvotes but it would be nice if someone would state if they have this issue with no mods/cc

I had mods in my mod folder but had them disabled in my game settings. Things seemed to be fine after repairing the game. 

I use Windows 10

So what you're saying is that your Sim couldn't put back the items your Sim took out of the bookshelf or refrigerator after moving, right?

Whenever I try to purchase something or move something from the Sim’s inventory, I can’t let it go! It just gets stuck in the “hand” until it finally decides to let go of it. This also causes the materials to glitch out and not appear when purchased from BB.
