Can't play the game

I can't play the game and haven't been able to for awhile now, I was hoping that an update would fix it but I'm still having issues. 

I'll spend time making a sim and finally be done with it, find a home to move them into and the game will reload me back to the world map but leave me sim at the home I left them. I try to go back to where my sim is and it won't let me do anything other than throw me back into the worlds map. 

I think I've seen a few people have this same problem but I'm not sure on how to solve it and it's honestly getting frustrating, I have a few new packs and kits that I just bought and I'd really like to play, I've spent so much money on the Sims just for it not to work for months now. Please I'm so fed up.
