[CD] [W] Black Pets/Werewolves (Lost texture after Patch 1.116.223/1.25)

In a family created from an old save file, dogs lose their texture in-game and in CAS. Example here with a normally red Shiba Inu that appears black even when pressing the red color again. This happens to all my Shiba Inus and Bernese Mountain Dogs. 

This bug has been occurring for several weeks and is still present in the September 18, 2025 update.

HI I got the same problem too, I accidentally solve it by just adding a new drawing on my pet ( just a dot is fine) then it solve suddenly. Hope this works for you too.

I understand others may have had or continue to have similar issues with sims and pets blacked out. I didn't have a problem until a few days ago after another update. My cat is all black and I cannot figure out how to switch him back. The weird thing is he doesn't have any custom fur, which I have seen is the cause of issue for some other users. I have a sim who has tattoos, not custom, but he is not affected. I have played recently and created this cat with no issue. It occurred after I needed an update a few days ago. I do not have any CC or mods. I rarely use cheat codes. Here is what I have tried to fix the bug:

1. Update game
2. Repair game
3. Reset pet in live mode with cheat code
4. Reset or change pet in CAS with cheat code
5. Delete cache

Nothing has worked for me. Just looking for some help. Thanks!
