Creating less "masterpieces" after purchasing "Creative Visionary" rewards trait

My sim is a level 10 painter and she was painting way more masterpieces before I bought this rewards trait.. Wondering if this is happening to anyone else? I picked "creative" trait when I made her so I thought that adding this bonus rewards trait would only maximize the times she would create masterpieces. She makes more "excellent" pieces that are only worth like $400-$500... It's pretty sad lol.
