Cross Stitch is empty after completion and I can't create a wall mounted copy

When my sim completes a Cross Stitch pattern, sometimes (more often than not) the hoop stays empty and I cannot create a wall mounted copy. The only options are to put it into inventory/place in world or to sell it.  Another feature not working like intended. I'm growing beyond tired of this game.
