Ever since I downloaded 'For Rent,' my four-year save file has become incredibly buggy. Initially, I experienced frozen loading screens and freezes when placing lots. Now, the issues have escalated, and the game is corrupting my file. In Willow Creek, where Oakenstead should be, a black square has appeared over the lot. Saving lots results in black squares or complete save failures. I also can't load certain rooms or move between floors without the game freezing.
You might think it's a cache issue, but I've cleared it. Space isn't the problem; I have 50GB free. And no, I don't use mods—it's impossible on a Macbook Air. I've repaired the game multiple times and reinstalled Sims 4, excluding 'For Rent' and 'My Wedding Stories' due to their known bugs.
I tried saving my Sims and lots from the corrupting file, but they contain corrupted data, making them risky in a new save. This is clearly a 'For Rent' bug corrupting my file, and I'm at a loss. EA needs to patch this issue, which is affecting numerous players. In the meantime, is there anything I can do to salvage my save?
