Game Forces Me Into Live Mode

Whenever I place a household onto a lot in game, the game forces me to play as that household, even when I'm on the manage worlds screen and I don’t know why.

I've tried going back into the main menu and loading the game instead of resuming, but that didn't fix the issue.

The problem that I'm having is that I don't want to play as any households right now, I just want to place households, and it's a little annoying to have to go into live mode every single time I place a household from manage worlds.

My problem seems to have solved itself, I'm not sure what was causing the issue, but when I restarted the game this afternoon, it fixed itself and now I can place households without being forced into live mode every single time I place one down.

Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing ? can you not choose another family on the manage world screen ? Do you not see others or what happens exactly ?

Did you make sure to delete your localthumbcache file as well ?

Is your laptop a Windows or Mac ?

It's going to be hard to capture exactly what happens on screen because it's not a visual glitch, what happens is that whenever I create a new family in CAS or add them to my world from the gallery, the game forces me to play as that household, even if I'm using the manage worlds feature.
When I removed all my mods, I deleted all the cache files from my game as well.
I play on a Windows laptop.

Can't you go back to manage world and then play another family ? Really having a hard time understanding. Maybe you could make a small video and upload to unlisted youtube or google drive ?

Usually if you create a new save, you create a family and then you need to place them in the game. After that you can go back to manage world and choose another family to play.

If you create one from within the game, you will also need to place the family and then go into live mode once but then you can go back to manage world and place another

If you are not creating a new family, you should be able to pick any family from the map that you want to play.
