Game killing the kids....

I was exploring the new camp came play with Adventure Awaits. My sim brothers as well as their friends (other sims from families that I rotate with) went to camp...it was working fairly well when suddenly the game decided that one of the sims from the other families was neglected so it killed them and turned them into a ghost. The only choice I had at this point was to quit the game without saving. At this point when I re-launch I'm not sure if everyone is still at camp or not....but if this keeps happening--random kids just dying for no reason it certainly takes the fun out of everything.
