Sims leave job/school after another sim travels

Playing the goth send mortimer to work save and quit my game go to play it today lodes up and mortimer has come back from work at 3pm instead of the usual 7pm I thought this was fixed I have no mods or CC and regularly clear my cache files I’m on PC

Hi, I know this has been reported before but the previous thread was locked and tagged fixed. I'm having this bug again :(

I reloaded a save and the child returned from school at 11AM. I edited someone in CAS and any children will return from school early. Basically any loading screen.

I have everything except Lovestruck, I also tested it with mods removed.

Sims coming home early is usually a symptom with several causes so it's something that can come back any time.

Is it just the children coming home or other household members too ? Any club gatherings going on ?

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Okay, I finally got around to trying to reproduce the bug/glitch, but I did not get any lastException when it happens. Same case with the earlier time when I posted this thread, no LE.

Basically, big sister goes to school, little brother ages up to a child and I used a dresser to Plan Outfit for the brother. The cas.fulleditmode cheat was active. When I was finished with planning brother's outfit, sister was out of school at 9AM.

Are there other ways to root out the cause?

Does it happen if you don't use plan outfit ?

This has now happened to me three times in the last 24 hours since I downloaded the new update. I will send the sim to school or work, and then save and exit the game. When I go log back into the game and resume my session, which is usually the next day, my Sim is forced to go home in the middle of work and school. Their performance also drops, they are not paid for the full day, and there is no option for them to return to work or school. It just says, school or work will happen the next day. This has lead my sim to go from an A student to a C student, and my other sim almost received a demotion from work. This has never happened before, just started happening 1-2 days ago.

So this bug has been inconsistent with me lol. I've been trying to reproduce it and it never happened again until today. I freshly launched the game after deleting localthumbcache as I usually do before playing. Loaded save, and child immediately returns from school at 8:15AM. Responsibility character value took a hit too.

This child lives in an apartment (specifically the 888 Spire Apartments) and the one who returned after Plan Outfit was also living in apartment (Hakim House). Other non-apartment children don't seem to have this issue. Might not be a cause but that's the common link I can think of.

• Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do
• At which point does your game crash to the desktop ?
• Are you playing any active work days/high school ?
• Does it affect all age groups ?

What other members do you have in the household ? Is the child the only one this happens ?

The (Hakim House) child has a teen sister, also affected by this bug. Basically every child currently in school will return as if I told them to "Leave Early".

So I don't completely understand all your questions, I don't know how or where to look for those files you're requesting. I usually just don't touch anything because I don't want to create problems. What initially happened was I was not able to open or play the sims at all about a month ago after it told me to download the update. I tried all the troubleshooting tips and it didn't work so I jusg left it for a couple weeks. Then the game started to work as normal for a few sessions, up until it recently asked me for another update. 

Now what happens is I will be playing for a bit and send my sims to school and to work as normal, but then I'll have to exit out of sims for the day because of I have a lot of work responsibilities. I only end up being able to play for an hour or so a few times a week. The next time I log back into my game, when they were in the middle of school or work, they just suddenly arrive home and I get a notification saying they're done with class or work for that day. Because it cuts off their school/work day, the game treats it as if they're "playing hookey." So their performance goes down. I've also noticed now that when I send them to school and work, their performance bar doesn't change at all, it neither increases or decreases, no matter if they've completed all daily tasks, are in a good mood, and have the "work hard" option on. This happens across all ages, all careers, and all types of schooling. It even happens when the child sim goes to a scout meeting and her performance isn't increasing despite the fact she's collected all the badges and is still not advancing to the next level.

Also no I do not use any mods or stuff like that. And I guess these aren't for any active jobs. The one sim is in tech guru, the other sim is in entertainment as a comedian, and the child is in school and the scouts club. I also don't have that expansion pack for school or whatever it is called, so it shouldn't be doing this. I've just had continuous errors whenever the sims release an update or whatever, and I'm regretting my decision to even buy expansion packs when it's now feeling like a waste of money if I can barely play the game without incurring some sort of bug/error.

And like I said, I also don't want to go meddling around deleting files because I'm worried I will delete any saved content I have or do something seriously wrong to my game.

Exception files are just log files and you can delete them with no consequences. Your saves are saved in the saves folder. You can find more info on each file in this post: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/user-files-explained/

It's also always good to create backups of your user files.

You used the tag: Crashing. Crashing means that your game auto-closes and your back on the desktop. Since you used that tag, I wonder when that happens in your game.

If you start a new save game for testing purposes, does this happen to or is it isolated to that save game ?

The problem with this is that something usually triggers them to come back home so what you are seeing is just a symptom of something going on in that save game and the more info, the easier it is to narrow down what's causing it.

One known reason for example are club meetings. Do you have any going on ?

Do you also have issues for loading screens ? Like do they come home if you leave them at work and then close down the game and restart ?

Does it matter what careers the other Sims are in ?

Hi! I’ve never had any issues with loading screens and them leaving when I come in/out of the game. It only seems to happen when I join the active careers. 

Ever since the nature event started my sim won’t stay at work. The first time it happened one of my sims was already at work, they have an active career so I joined them at work. When my other sim went to work, he stayed at work until my active career sim came home and came home too, even though he only worked half his schedule.

The next sim day, my sim went to work and I had my other sim go to the library. As soon as my sim got to the library my other sim came immediately back home. Is there a glitch or something in the game because it’s making my sims work performance go down??

Same here. When The Nature Calling Quest was introduced to my game I got the same issue. If one of my sims goes to work, and the other at home leaves the lot, every sim at work or school will return not completing their school/work. It’s frustrating. I’ve been using cheats for grade performance boosters and money.  The only way I know how to combat this issue is to make sure no sim ever leaves their lot while the other is at school/work, or accept that the others will return. Glad I’m not alone but sorry you’re dealing with this too :( Hope this gets fixed

This is happening for me too. I have 2 sims in a household, 1 with a rabbithole career and one with an active one. The rabbithole sim leaves at 8 then when the sim with the active career goes to work at 9 it forces the rabbithole sim home for the day. This is causing the rabbithole Sim's career to tank out. Just started when the Nature Calling Quest started. Not sure how to fix. 

Note: I am on PC. I noticed the original poster was on Playstation.

So I had two sims in my household at work/school. When I left the lot for an interior decorator gig, the game forced my other sims home, not allowing them to finish their time at work/school. Also happened again while the same two were out, then I left the lot with my third sim for a meetup and they came home again. I have all the expansion packs, including the two new ones (lovestruck and life and death), perhaps that's where it stems from? I haven't had this happen before installing those.

Recently I've been having an issue with my game, where if one of my sims travels to a different lot whilst my other sims are at work/ school they'll come straight home. This is really annoying as I can't send them back to work/ school so it lowers their progress.  They're not travelling with this sim so I don't understand why they'll be sent home. 

I'm aware this June update has been causing people some issues, so I don't know if it is related to that. I play on my MacBook with the Sims 4 game up to date. If anyone could help me figure out how to fix this, it'll be very much appreciated. 

I was having a similar issue yesterday. I would get a window asking if I wanted the Sim at  work/school to return home.  I think it started around the same time as the event.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have sims either at work, university, school or "somewhere they're supposed to be"; THEN, travel with an active sim to another lot; 
What happens when the bug occurs? All the "somewhere they're supposed to be" sims will automatically end their "work day", return to their home lot with the little money they've earnt.
What do you expect to see? Them to remain to their job or "place where they're supposed to be".
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Affected equally, both in new and older games. Modded or not.

Please describe the patch or change you made. The 'Nature's calling' patch seems to be the problem.

I've attempt to localise where the problem of this patch was. These are my conclusions.

It appears that the "Nature's calling" event while ACTIVE (specifically for me it was the 2nd or 3rd mission I think - the one to go to a park and listen to the wind) causes the problem. That meaning that while I ACTIVATED but not carried it out, sims would return from their jobs early whenever I'd travel to any lot or even return home from another lot.
Completing the mission and NOT taking another one has looked to fix the problem all together.
According to lastexpection the error resides within the 'Live Event UI dialog system'.

This is happening to me!!! It is almost making my game unplayable. My sims are doing so bad in their careers now. Anytime I join my sim in their career the others in the house leave work early. 

Anytime I join my SIM for their active career (detective or doctor) the other Sims in the household leave work early immediately after the loading screen is done. This is causing my game to become unplayable due to this glitch. My Sims are doing terrible at their careers and I’m not making any money.
