latest patch made the game unplayable

I have already reported this issue but considering it's been over a week and no updates have been released to fix the bug in the new patch, it bares repeating again that this issue is making the game ENTIRELY unplayable.

This issue began as soon as the new patch was installed, and I have gone through several different troubleshooting routes, and none of them have worked so it can only be the patch to blame;
After loading into the main menu, I have clicked on to resume my family in a world that I have been using for years. After the diamond loading screen it takes you back to the world menu to select a city/town/whatever. Going back into the town my active family are in, trying to load them again and this repeats.
I selected a different house and tried to load in through build mode and after the diamond spinning screen I am again taken back to the world menu, but this time the family that was in the house I tried to load into has been deleted.

I've seen other posts about this issue so idk why it's not been fixed yet but this is beyond aggravating to have hundreds of dollars of expansion content be completely unusable. FIX IT ASAP.
