[START HERE] Crashing/Back to Map/Endless loading (Patch 117.221)

Hi everyone,

I'm back from Gamescom where I had a great time.

Coming home I see that the patch did a number on the mods and many face issues now, even when trying to remove their mods. In order to be able to help you troubleshoot, we helpers and EA need information from you. 

Before continuing, make sure you test on a fresh user folder, following instructions below (not applicable to console)

Instructions

• Close the game
• Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
• Repair the game
• Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry.
• Start a new save game
• Check if you still have the error
• If the error does not occur on a new save, please copy your save over to the newly create folder from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old\Saves to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves. (Make sure you keep a copy as all your CC will be removed from the save) and test again.

If you make your own thread, make sure you provide the information asked. Threads that don't have the information will be merged into the main threads after 48 hours.

Game is crashing to the desktop before getting to the main menu

If your game still crashes to the desktop with no mods/cc present in your game, please post in the tech forum of your platform:

Game is crashing to the desktop on an individual save game

If your game is only crashing on one particular save game with no mods/cc it's probably an issue with the save itself. For troubleshooting, please post here:

Mac

PC

Create your own thread in The Sims 4 Gameplay Questions & Issues providing your DxDiag as well as any LastCrash.txt file you may get. 

Describe in as much detail as possible where the game crashes and how often. The more info you give, the easier to troubleshoot. The life story of your Sims is not necessary though.

Console

When loading into a family, you're booted back to the map without error code

If you're still seeing this on your save game without putting back your mods folder, please create your own thread in The Sims 4 Gameplay Questions & Issues providing the following information

• Do you have this issue with any family you try to load (use the LOAD GAME button on your main menu to load a different family)
• Did you have the same issue on the new save game ?
• Please provide any LastException files you get.

When loading into a family, you're booted back to the map with error code

• [CC and Milestones, error code 110-578ef827] Stuck On Loading Screen Sims 4: There are 110 errors unrelated to this issue so please check your LastException first and check it for this: developmental_milestone_tracker. If the LE contains this, follow instructions in the thread to fix the issue (make sure to turn on script mod for the mod to work).

If you have any other numbers or your 110 isn't milestone related, please search the bug forum if any of them are known and post in those threads or create your own thread in The Sims 4 Gameplay Questions & Issues providing your lastException files.

When loading into a family, the game loads endlessly

Test out the scenarios given there and provide the info when you create your own thread in The Sims 4 Gameplay Questions & Issues | EA Forums 

Also provide any LastExceptions you may get.
