Pre-made Adopted Sims not showing as adopted

Since the update from February 3. 2026

Even if I activate the "show adopted Sims"-Button in the Gameplay-Settings, the adopted children of the Townie-Sims like for example the Michaelsons or the Greenburgs will not be shown as adopted in the family tree. I tried to start a new game several times, but it did not change. Even if I deinstalled the whole game and reinstalled it, the problem did not go away. If I adopt a new child, it WILL be shown as adopted in the family tree. It's only withe the Sims, that allready exist.

  • Hello,

This is currently functioning as designed for premade adopted Sims. Please feel free to provide your feedback on this design choice here if you'd like.

If you're seeing this issue with adopted Sims in new households, please create a bug report so we can investigate that further.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Nireigam

Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
    • Do you only have issues with premade Sims or also with Sims you created before the patch yourself ?

I have no Mods or cc installed and I even deinstalled the whole game, deleted all files and reinstalled it. before creating a new save file.
Because I have no own sims, who have adopted children, I can't say, if the problem would also occur there. And it makes no difference, if it is a save, that existed before the update, or if I start a new game.

  • Changing title to premades for now but maybe someone that had adopted Sims before could check.

I don't like that. If there is the option, that adopted sims are shown as adopted in the familiy tree, it shoud apply to ALL adopted sims, not only to the new ones. Otherwise it is inconsistent.

Not sure if this will be possible if they’re already grown, but I had a family with some adopted infants when we got the update, and I actually had the option to click on them and adopt again after the update. Even though they were already in the family tree as my sim’s kids, when she adopted them again, the tags changed to show they were adopted.
