Re: Constant Fires (Reason unknown)

Hello,

I'm experiencing a serious bug in The Sims 4 involving constant fires breaking out during normal gameplay.

Platform: PC
Game Version : 1.116.232.1030 DX11
Packs Installed: I have all the packs

Description of the Issue :
Objects in my game spontaneously catch fire without any logical reason. Toilets, lights, and other household items ignite randomly and repeatedly. The fires happen very frequently and make the game nearly unplayable because they destroy everything and keep coming back. In just one hour of gameplay, the object can catch fire twice.

Steps to Reproduce the Bug :

  1. Play the game normally (no specific action needed).
  2. Random household objects will catch fire for no apparent reason.
  3. Even after extinguishing the fire or replacing the items, new fires break out again shortly after.
  4. When my Sim uses the toilet, they catch on fire.

Expected Result :
Objects should not catch fire unless triggered by something specific (cooking accidents, lightning strikes, etc.).

Actual Result :
Fires break out randomly and repeatedly, affecting all kinds of objects and ruining the gameplay experience.

I have tried repairing the game and removing mods (if any), but the issue continues. Please look into this, as it’s making the game very frustrating to play.

Thank you for your help !

Best regards,

Onlydine

I had this & the only different thing I had done was put radiators in my builds. Removing the radiators has stopped 90% of the random fires now.

That pic shows a toilet on fire. That's normal gameplay if you have the composter upgrade from eco-lifestyle. That upgrade is CURSED. Never let them do it. (Unless you're a fan of fire chaos.)

I know that the new gnomes will upgrade EVERYTHING when they're brought to life. That includes the ailment that lures gnomes which means that you don't even need to select that option. It'll just happen.

You also can't trust the "instant upgrade" option. I personally use a mod (I think it's an LMS mod, but not sure.) to disallow the composting upgrade when instant upgrading.

There are a few Reddit threads about the random fires, so I'm not saying it isn't happening. Just check your Sims toilets for that upgrade, replace them if you have to, and give us all an update on whether:
    - that worked for you
    - if it's still happening to other objects as well
    - if it's still happening to things including toilets w/o the upgrade

Another thing to check is your sim's luck. If they have bad luck, it's possible that they will start many fires while using different objects normally.

Alright, I'll try to remove that toilet and replace it with another one. Then, there are other objects catching fire now, like flower pots.

Before installing the pack, I was already having a lot of fires in my game. So I moved. But it's still happening anyway.

Did you see my question? There's a few reasons but if random objects are catching fires that's not the new luck fires. Cursed book events are know to cause this even when they are over
