[RL] Dynasties disappeared and nobles lost their status

Could you please provide the following information

• Did you never have mods/cc or remove them ? Please pick a thread tag for that.
• Do you have a backup from before they got removed and it happens again ?
• If you do have a backup, are you getting any LastException files in your documents folder you could provide (copy/paste the content, you can't upload them)

I just had the exact same thing happen last night; after loading my save, all my dynasties and noble roles were just gone. I then loaded an earlier save and discovered they were all still there, so I highly suspect the reason for this weird disappearance to be that I turned off automatic ageing for inactive households sometime in-between.

Will double-check later and retrace my steps to see if that was really the crux or not, because I didn't even stop playing or add/remove any mods, so that's the only explanation I currently have.

For the time being, I'd suggest maybe just re-instating an earlier save file to see if the roles are all still there.

Hello, I had the same Thing today. I also changed. During the game I changed from none aging to automatic aging.  I Managed to Reload my old save to rescue. I have 15 Dynasties in this save.

Hi, I'd like to report an error that I noticed regarding dynasties and family connections just a couple of days ago. I searched in the forums and I believe that some of the other users have encontered a similar error.

I discovered it when I was playing a sim family who is supposed to have a secret child/father connection with another sim in another household, but when I checked that secret family connection was gone, and the forged connection with the "father", who is married to the mother, was listed as a normal (biological) parent-child connection.

At that point I used the MCCC to correct this link, so that the biological father and the stepfather will be listed as such, and then disabled MCCC by deleting it.

On the other hand, I also noticed during the same time that a pre-made noble sim (Enzo Alto) had lost his dynasty logo and his title. I went to check in Ondarion and saw that all of the noble families (including one noble family that I made) had lost their dynasty statuses too. Other than that, all forged connections (Darong-Ananou for example), as well as deceased sim relations who are not in world (Capp descendants except for Consort, Thebe descendants, Zhu-Vatore descendants) have disappeared.

I figured then I will just try to restore all of it as much as I can MANUALLY, by downloading the deceased sims and restoring their family connections in CAS; I managed to restore the Zhu-Vatore family. But then as I was trying to restore the dynasties, I noticed that even when I tried to found a new dynasty (was using the Thebe family), it showed as if I had reset an existing dynasty : notifications showing dynasty prestige levelling down, etc, and when I wanted to name the heir - same one as the one in my saves - it couldn't select that person (in this case it was Cordelia and Thiago's child). I tried to unmake the heir and rename the same child as heir, but it didn't work either. Other than that, the noble titles did not reappear despite them being in the noble career when I restored the dynasties, and neither did the floral decorations on the family tree

I feel like the game is unable to read some aspects of the game, namely dynasties and family trees? I'm not sure if the mod has something to do with it. I tried reloading a save file that I have just BEFORE installing the mod but AFTER realizing the secret child connection was gone and it still had the same problem. Not sure if mods are able to alter old save files, but judging from the 'modified' timestamp in the folders they don't seem to have changed after I installed MCCC.

On a side note, I do change premade sims' families, especially with children (because it's too long to wait for them to have a baby, grow up, etc). I use aging only for active played households, and not all the time either.

In short :

• Secret family connections lost
• Dynasties and noble titles lost, but seemingly still exist??
• Family connections via deceased sims lost
• Tried using MCCC to alter family connections (for one family) and then uninstalled it
• Only have 1 save file before installing the mod. Have no save file where all of the family connections / dynasties are normal
• I modify premade sims families in CAS to add children / age some sims
• Aging only for the active household. No auto aging for inactive / unplayed households / townies
• I have a lot of sims (about 100 played sims in households)

Sorry it's a long one, storytelling is pretty important to my game and I'd really like to have all of it fixed if possible! Thanks in advance (':

Also  :

• Neighborhood stories only switched on for friendship and career changes, and on other households
• A sim in my household (has a deceased, playable ghost partner, has a son) suddenly has a secret family with some random townie (generated) family that she doesn't even know
• Lucha Harjo died despite neighborhood stores swtiched off, and having never tinkered with the Harjo Family. Maybe I just didn't notice it especially since it's winter at the moment in my game and he died of freezing lol

I suspect this bug is linked to editing in CAS.  The same occured in my save after editing my sims work hair using the cheat sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas.  After I saved the changes in CAS, all dynasty menu options disappeared. 

The sim's profile still reflects their dynasty but no menu options such as add to dynasty, leave, select heir, etc.  

Same thing happened to me, Ive tried recovering saves from far back as 2 days when i know the dynasty still existed and even those saves its gone now. I read somewhere that changing the length of a Sims lifespan can cause the dynasties to get wiped which im guessing is whats happening because thats exactly what i did prior to realizing the dynasty was gone. regardless its a bug and recovering saves did nothing to fix. Hopefully EA can get on fixing this, losing all the dynasties in my save file just killed my drive for playing, its so much work to fix them all.

 I have just encountered this issue. My save file has all the OG dynasties plus at least 5 of my own as i have been working on a complete save. I loaded my household and the entire family dynasty was wiped although all the sims remained. Also, when I opened the "view all dynasties" tab it was completely blank. I have not changed any lifespan settings since first starting the save, but I did just change my graphics settings and turn off the auto save feature before I noticed this issue. I am going to try to load an earlier save but I had just spent the week working on a household that was not in a dynasty, so I am unsure of when this bug really happened. 😪

Update: No recovered saves have any dynasties now. I didn't go into my game settings anytime recently until today. Think I've got to take a sims break now. 🙁

Same for me, all the dynasties and aristocracy are suddenly gone, even the pre-made ones. Can't say exactly when it happened, but looks like it was today during the gameplay. What's interesting: one of my family members got married today and there was a window asking if their new husband will join the dynasty. I also opened dynasties window several times yesterday and today and they all were there, but if I load a save from 3 days ago the dynasties are also not there. But they do exist in autosave from 07.08 (before I turned autosave off).
I've noticed it when today the head of my dynasty had a wish to choose a heir, I was surprised because she already had a heir and when I opened the dynasty window there wasn't any dynasty. I haven't change any lifespan settings but I did changes some neighbourhood rules, did a makeover of some families and deleted some NPC families right before I noticed that the dynasties were gone.
