Happening to me too!
I rotational play across a significant number of families and noticed a while back that I would load up a family and despite leaving them in a happy relationship, their romance and sometimes friendship bar would be completely red the next time I played them! Loaded up today with the same issue. I cheated their relationship back to 100 and one sim left for work. I can literally see the romance bar depleting rapidly before my eyes! Really frustrating and shocking to see this issue going back to almost a year with no resolution! Poor support from EA!
