Selected spellcaster eyes do not stay in live mode

About two weeks ago, I made two spellcasters with red eyes/black sclera and began to play. For several hours I was able to play both just fine, so I decided to save before entering CAS. I went into CAS to change their outfits. When I loaded back into live mode, one of my spellcasters eyes had changed to normal Sim eye color. I exited to the Main Menu and then reloaded my saved file, hoping that it was just a glitch. When I entered live mode, this time BOTH spellcasters had normal eyes. 

I play with mods so I removed them, started a fresh new save by recreating them in CAS and going into live mode. The same problem still persist.

I have tried the following remedies which did not work: 1) Repairing game; 2) removing Mods and playing vanilla; and 3) removing Mods, starting completely over by recreating sims and starting in a fresh, new save.
