I never use mods or cc. I have tried moving the food to multiple surfaces, surfaces that have nothing else on them. It was working for weeks in the save I'm currently playing, nothing was changed to the lot / house / sim, I didn't switch saves or anything, then suddenly today my sim wasn't able to pick up or grab a serving anymore. I tried resetting my sim, when that didn't work I restarted the game, not sure what else to try.
Wanted to add sim also cant pack into a lunch either. The sim walks towards the food, gets into position as if grabbing then the action just cancels and no serving is taken. No error, no waving sim with thought bubble that they cant reach it or anything like that.

Yes my sim does have the spice perk, but I was able to pick up slices when she had it before, just not now. The only thing that I can think of that has changed is that she achieved her first level of souls journey. It wasn't something I was working on or know much about, it just happened in the background.
I tried not using secret spice and I can pick up servings again. I can use secret spice on a single serving but then I have to wait to do it again. Not ideal when I'm trying to sell servings. Sad I can't use that perk. Thank you for the help though Crinrict.
