Sims Freeze Upon Entering Save

I’ve been having this issue since the Jan 25th update. Anytime I load into a save, within a couple of seconds my sims freeze and will not do anything, qued up or not. The clock continues to move but that’s it. When I try to reset my sim using shift click, reset object, the sim will stand with their arms slightly held out and I can’t do anything else from there. I then have to exit to the main menu, re-enter the save, and then the game will work. I saw this reported elsewhere but it was declined as a bug. I’m pretty sure this is a bug though, not a tech issue. It’s making the game completely unplayable and is very frustrating. Was hoping it would be fixed after the Jan 28 update but it was not. No mods or cc and I’m on a MacBook Pro 2012.

  • I am having the same problem. I thought it's my Mac that it may got older and it's health went down to 98% but i guess i'm not alone. They're stuck and even a reset sim is not making them do the actions im asking them.

Have you tried the "usual" troubleshooting tips including, and specifically, renaming your The Sims 4 USER FOLDER (the one located in Documents where the Mods folder is), launching the game so it creates a new USER FOLDER and checking if what you're experiencing is happening in a new save with a new household?

Also, try going OFFLINE in the EA App and in-game. Server connectivity can negatively impact gameplay (even though this is a single-player game). I've never had it impact gameplay as bad as you're describing but I have had my framerate tank from 60 FPS to 30 FPS.
