Sims walk back and forth when moving an object to another place

I've noticed recently that if my Sim is supposed to take an object to another part of the lot they will go there without it then come back for it. For example, if my Sim has made a meal they will put the meak on the counter, walk (or in my Sim's case transportalate) to the table, then walk back to pick the meal up and back to the table to sit and eat. The same thing happens if I ask her to take her infant up to bed. She will transportalate upstairs to the crib without the infant then walk back downstairs to get the infant. This is a new bug that I haven't seen before. Not preventing me from playing the game, just reporting it.
