Sims will not enter through an unlocked door

My sims will not enter through the front door of their house. A little thought bubble with a lock pops up, but the door is never locked. I never get the "can't get to place" bubble, it's ALWAYS the locked bubble.

I have tried getting rid of any furniture that might be in the way, I've deleted and replaced the door, even deleted the wall in case that would help anything. After going out to Manage Worlds then going back in, the glitch still continued.

The door is on a house with a foundation and stairs leading up to it. The staircase has the landing you get from being one tile from the house, as I didn't want to waste the tiny house limit on a porch. I'm not sure if this would affect how the door functions though.

I'm playing on PS4 with newest update as of reporting.
