Snowy Escape Hot Pot Bug

When I try to get my sims to use the hot pot, the interaction appears in the queue and then dissapears as if cancelled and the hot pot doesn't start boiling or anything. It happens for both single and group interactions.

At times, what happens is that after around 5 minutes sims get a "Eat Hot Pot" interaction in the queue and the Hot Pot automatically has the food ready but that's not how it used to work. I've tried it in different save files with no mods and the problem remains. I also tried repairing the game and reinstalling it and nothing 😩
