My sim's home lot off-grid, so I went to the community lot (Library at Willow Creek) and broke the computer there. No option to repair or replace. Went back to the library after visit to home lot, and computer is fixed. Like another user, I quit without saving, but the event is checked off so there is no way to break another computer.
