The same thing has been happening to me. I logged in yesterday and it forced me to update the game. I also realized that MCCC is not showing up, which made me delete and reinstall it but it only popped up on my sims. But the icons are all different, at first I thought it was a part of the new update but the more I tried to play the more my game would freeze. I couldn't even save it to exit it wouldn't let me so. had to force quit it. But today when I tried to play I had another update and it didn't help at all so its not just you.
yupp this exact same thing happened to me.. at the moment i'm checking mods and removing them. Now i see i am not the only one going through this... I Hope this issue gets this fixed asap..
I think EA or Sims Creator might be doing this on purpose so we don't use Mods or CC lmao
