woohoo and try for baby keeps getting canceled

i’m doing the breed out the ugly challenge and i’m on the second generation. my young adult sim married one of the moon children and cannot woohoo or try for baby with them. everytime they just talk about it, get relationship points, and then they reset. i’ve tried this in the bed, the shower. i’ve moved the bed, i deleted the bed and got a new one, ive reset both sims, ive reset the bed and the shower, ive reopened the game and nothing works. i do not have any mods of cc installed.
