Neither the EA app or Steam launches the game on my pc!
Gone through most of the fixes youtube brings up when you type windowed black screen game exiting, but cant find anything that works. The game weirdly works on my ROG Ally though for some reason but not on steam or the ea app. The ea app does give me a message "error on our end please try later" every time for the last week. Hope someone can give me a hand on this, really enjoying the game for the 10 hours i have into itmy personal suggestions
1. No Photo Challenges / Video Mode i Personally most often miss creative options like photo challenges or editing clips in order to post combos or make artful montages. (A commenter wrote: "I miss the old clip editor … the editor is pretty bare bones in skate.") Reddit Without them, the game may be more surface-level or less expressive. Restore a clip editor with all of the abilities: angle switching support, replays, slow motion, trick run stitching together. Add photo challenge modes in which players must shoot certain stances, grinds, transitions, or tricks in set-up photos. Allow players to "storyboard" trick vids (e.g. rehearse lines, receive graded on style, flow, and presentation). Offer these features within social / sharing tools (so players can simply brag). 2. No Hall of Meat / Deathraces The new release is missing some of the crazier, fun modes like Hall of Meat or "deathraces / risk modes" that were part of the personality of the previous games. Removing them makes the game look even more sanitized and less risky. Critics already call the new game "gentrified" in tone. Bring back Hall of Meat or something similar: modes where big bails, ragdoll physics, fail tricks are all part of the enjoyment, promoting creative crashes. Include a "risk / deathrace" mode: high-risk tracks, dangers, time limit, bailing penalties. Allow players to switch on/off which modes they want (for casual vs hardcore). Make these modes secondary so that they don't turn off more casual players, but appease long-time players seeking the madness. 3. Community Park "sucking" / weak park system Community Parks in the new skate. ' are a letdown. Many users complain the community park / map is sterile and boring. Others comment on how the urban aesthetic is too clean and "sterile" — it just doesn't possess the grittiness, randomness, personality of Skate 3's world. The park building / "Quick Drop objects" system is without integration or connection to community engagement. More freedom and level of variety in community parks: allow users to build complex ramps, rails, terrain shifts, obstacles; allow community voting / rating to have the most popular parks shown on the map. Dynamic / reactive world: weather, time of day, crowd size, temporary events that change park designs. Randomized small items to break up monotony: graffiti, wear and tear, pins, small objects to skate by, small cracks or bumps. Better matchmaking / instancing: ensure that players do not drop into dead parks, or waiting rooms with nothing happening. Minimize downtime in parks. Awards for contributions from users: best user-made parks might get spotlight, rewards, flags, featured events. 4. Adding Items to Steam / PC Marketplace On Steam / PC, many players want to buy and sell cosmetics, decks, gear via a marketplace / traditional system rather than randomized loot boxes. In the new game, many items are often behind loot boxes, which many feel is unfair. Many have complained with the phrase: "Why not put each cosmetic on sale … instead of rolling the dice or shelling out cash?" The current monetization system is criticized as being too corporate / loot box oriented. From What I Heard Implement a Steam (or PC) marketplace / trading system for cosmetic items, boards, accessories – where players can buy, sell, or trade. Introduce a buy directly option for cosmetics (no gamble). Enable players to buy exactly what they want rather than by random drops. Use loot boxes only for holiday or special occasion items, not core costume sets. Ensure items traded or sold do not upset balance — cosmetics / non-gameplay items only. Make cross-platform inventory or trading (if feasible), so PC players benefit from additional social economy. Restore creative modes (clip editor / photo challenges) to enable players to express themselves more than mere tricking. Restore the risk / chaotic modes (Hall of Meat, deathraces) to restore some of the franchise's edgier allure. and no s.k.a.t.e mode? Repair / update the community park system so that it's lively, dynamic, social, and interactive—rather than sterile or dead. implement a market / trading / direct buy system for goods, move away from loot-box gating, return genuine control to the player in the cosmetic economy. And on a Final Note: ive been getting the same challenges for like 3 days... booooSims needs wont decay, and are instead filling.
I'm playing in a household of 2 young adult sims, a child sim, a newborn, and a cat, and one of the YA sims' Hunger, Bladder, Energy, and potentially the Fun needs aren't decaying. He was playing the piano and I watched his energy bar rise from where I had cheated it to, with out doing anything. The rest of the household still is but only the one sims isn't. I haven't bought any rewards traits that would affect the decay of any of those needs, and I disabled mods and its still not decaying. I haven't used any cheats to affect his need decay either. He has the Lazy, Bro, Music Lover, Cheerful, Domestic traits from CAS, and the Frugal, Storm Chaser, Stoves and Grills Master, and Carefree rewards traits, and the only newer moodlets for him are "Made a New Friend" and "Righteous Riffs" bit neither say anything about certain needs staying maxed. He also has the Close-knit and Indoorsy Lifestyles, and is Balanced with Bad Luck currently. I have every pack, so I really don't know what it could be. Has anyone dealt with this/ know what could be?Grabbing cars / slapping pedestrians
Not going to lie in skate three when we could bash the people it was kinda funny to see that in the game it took me by surprise to see it wasn’t in this game. Also not being able to grab on the cars and go faster was a shock as well because I really enjoyed the mechanic in the game I do genuinely hope to see these in the future. Also loot boxes for items is not a good idea however if I was able to buy more things for the amount that I earn that would be great also the gameplay is smooth but a bit “clunky” at times I do hope that makes sense and I hope it helps otherwise I looooveeee the game so farfor the DEV's
im gunna make a compiled list of the good and bad things as a person that has played the skate series since i was a child. goods: building is actually cool just wish i had a private park so i could make something for the community to try like skate 3, flick it system doesnt feel bad updated and i like that i can climb most things when that wasnt an option before hand; matter of fact i feel like the parkour is really cool but it takes away from this being ya know a SKATE GAME. my bois at the park after a couple tricks in a bowl irl arent just doing gainers over stuff idk its odd. thats it for the goods unfortunately. bads: no fingerflips, darkslides eliminating pages of tricks that have existed since the first game. you cant advertise how this NEW version of the game has a bunch of new options for tricks and not even have the full catalog of original tricks. most of the tricks just look like im jumping off the board (doesnt feel like you guys have sat down and watched how feet and legs go off a board to do a trick just how the board is supposed to flip.), no one wants a loot box based progression system even if its free, not being able to break bones is lame and childish, the ai model voice over is annoying and unnecessary cause of izzy, izzy is an annoying hipster that chirps in your ear every 2 seconds to say "FoOtY" even though getting footage means nothing in this game/the replay system is 100% worse than skate 3 and even skate 2. the visual representation youve provided this game is for mall skaters aka people who like skater fashion but dont really skate aka someone who wears a thrasher hoodie and vans but cant ride a board. the visual style of the game is horrible idk who thought that the sims and the skate series has a fanbase that intersects at all but they need to be straight up fired. no pro skater missions/what missions exist dont feel like old missions from the older games they feel like tony hawk missions hands down (doesnt feel like you guys have played through any of the skate games imo just watched slide shows or something), you keep saying this is a community based game but the community has been pointing out a lot of these issues for YEARS, no skate brands in said loot boxes just generic stuff that wouldve been given to the player starting the game instead of starting them out as a homeless person. you made meat man a 25$ pack when you would get him for BEATING HALL OF MEAT AS A REWARD EVERYGAME? theres no broken bones. the only real skate brand i saw chocolate? ANOTHER 25$ pack. wtf man. i only saw girl wheels and even those cost real money. this is a disgusting practice. what you should have done is provided the community with REAL skate brands and make your generic stuff buyable if we wanted too like the grim reaper set up. gives you guys incentive to actually create for the community instead of just take from the culture. only character body modification is for **bleep** and butt, only like 5-6 guy hairstyles and 2 pages of girls hair styles (im a dude with long hair and i dont feel represented), every face is androgynous when SKATE GAMES ALWAYS HAD WOMEN let alone representation. if you wanted to represent women skaters you couldve LICENSED WOMEN PROS TO BE IN YOUR GAME MAKE TEAMS WITH THEM ALONG WITH THE MEN ITS NOT THAT HARD THAT WOULDVE BEEN AMAZING ACTUALLY AND IM A DUDE SAYING THAT. not by washing the game down into a game where you dont know if you are a he she or them thus giving the game no representation for every day regular people when the skate series was an in the life of a every day skater. as a man that waited 15 years to play this game; i could only stomach 10 hours of play time before re downloading skate 2. your team doesnt know what skaters want edit:ive put more time in to find more that youve missed. cant grab your board while grinding. which was a feature since skate 2. i figured id be able to finger flip off of rails in this game for how much ads were done for how many new tricks were being added to the game. it feels like you guys spent so much time making a parkour game that yall forgot this is a SKATE game. edit on top of edit: no comply's dont inheritly do shovits irl. its just a push to ollie. another example of your team only knowing skateboarding from videos and not having any real skaters consulting your team edit on top of edit on top of edit my god guys: no underflips. removing again pages of tricks. yall really didnt play the last games and with how everything is set up im 100% expecting these tricks to be added in a 40$ throwback trick pack or some bs because of how predatory the rest of the game is with micro transactions and theres a dickies hoodies for free before anything a real skater would wear. this is gross. i wouldve paid 60$ for a GOOD skate game and more for dlc. i paid for every dlc in every skate game previous. this game straight up ruins the legacy and tries to take money from people over pixels.325Views14likes20CommentsThing's I'd love to see as the game progresses through early access on.
I'm aware the game is in early access, a lot forget that I think. That being said still in early dev these are a number of things I would like to see, change or fun ideas as the game develops, some of which are most likely coming down the pipeline at some point. Darkslides Fingerflips manual varients (capser, primo, pogos etc) Ability to add stickers to your clothing such as hats and shirts to utilize the plain clothing more. Ability to use more stickers on the board and size them and place as we'd like. Sticker bombing the board, more sticker slots? And the ability to rotate as well as resize. Option to have a jacket/ button up open or closed. Option to have your hat forwards or backwards. The ability to save clothing layouts as "outfits" or something. The ability to save board layouts as multiple boards. Tournament style challenges that have multiple stages in solo and coop. Weekly "Sponsor" challenge where the player can get "sponsored" by a brand and maybe gain a boost of some sort for a duration of time or specific challene styles. Don't lock the loot behind random loot crates, we spend money on a TON of things we'll ever use. Get rid of microtransactions or most and lock those items behind progressions or harder challenges/ tournaments etc. Having branded clothing locked behind a paywall takes a LARGE part of a skateboarding game away. There is way too much stuff locked behind micotransactions now. Hall of meat where it shows the broken bones on big slams or at least the stunt challenges. Each area on the map (Hedgemont, Gullcrest etc) should have their own specific inventory. What you can buy at ine you cant at another, more fun way of unlocking loot as you progress. Races solo and coop. Ability to party up or make a challenge and actually play SKATE against eachother in coop. I just want to play actual Skate against the homies. Bring in more skate brands and old brands such as Blind, Element, Birdhouse, Toy Machine etc. Much better weekly parks. The Impervitech or whatever has terrible flow and layouts, Let the community create and submit parks to be approved. Ability to skitch cars. More humor lol the game is so dry and not funny at all, i need that skater comedy! Better VO, the AI and everything should just be actual voice lines. More NPCs to interact with to do challenges for etc with personalities. Shorten the time to create a session marker, or make a setting for this would be nice. I'll prolly get some flak for this, but the game is OVERLY "progressive" lol to the point it takes away from the skateboarding to almost make a point. Let's be inclusive etc but let the player make that choice, show that in NPCs that we interact with etc. Ask for the options of pronouns in the appearance section and then tailer the NPCs reactions/ VO to said option, this will make the game feel more flushed out and like the NPCs are talking directly to the player. Much more immersive! There is glitch, possibly cross platform, possibly connectivity issue where my friends character in a party was invisible at times. Make the following gestures lol: flossing with the arms, dab pose, muscle flex and point to the sky. Daily challenges, keep the same area but change up the actual challenge tasks, have a random rotation of lines per-say. "Off limit" areas with security that will run after the player for being in said area. Ability to open up areas by completing a challenge there to clean it up, clear it out, access it etc.Issues with Walls
So I’m having an issue after the newest patch. My walls won’t delete like at all. And it’s hard to change the wall height because I’ll click medium wall height and my game will lag, then freeze, and SOMETIMES actually change it. I can’t build because of this and I worked REALLY hard on this build. What do I do? I do have mods and CC but I’ve removed all broken mods and updated all the ones that needed updated and Better Exceptions isn’t pointing out an issue mod. Idk what to do?
